Various Pictures

I have always loved radio and electronics. I have listened to Amateur Radio my whole life. I finally decided to get off my butt in October of 2008 and get my Amateur Radio license. I received my Technician "ticket" on October 21st, 2008. I upgraded to General on April 4th, 2009. I REALLY can't wait to get on 75 meter voice finally after listening to those frequencies since I was about 7 or 8 years old. I guess I need to buy my fiancee' Charme a new wardrobe or something first. She is none too pleased with all my radio purchases thus far. I just installed an APRS tracking system in my Jeep. I use the following equipment for this set-up: Yaesu FT-2800M running at 10 watts, the physical tracker is an Open Tracker 2 M(OT2M), GPS is a Garmin Nuvi 360 (its a Nuvi 350 with bluetooth), and a Wilson 5/8 wave VHF antenna. There really isn't a whole lot of information out there on the internet to fully explain how to set up an APRS station in layman's terms so if you have any questions please feel free to drop me a line and I will do my best to assist you. My email address is raven346_2000@yahoo.com or hiers.james@yahoo.com. I am most likely always monitoring the 444.200mhz repeater as well as the 146.940mhz repeater(both located in Amarillo, Texas). More often than not, I am also monitoring 10 meters on 28.400mhz(USB). Be safe and God bless!
